I ate here for the first time with a couple of friends on New Year's Eve for a late brunch. I opted for breakfast food, and went with their more basic breakfast, which included over easy eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and then I substituted grits for the bread option. I also ordered an oat milk latte. All of the food was delicious, and the service was good, despite them being very busy. I also really loved the space...clean and cozy and well appointed. I am excited to have a new brunch place on my list of go-tos.

I went with a basic hashbrowns and eggs combo. The eggs were perfect but the hashbrowns seemed oddly undercooked and a bit powdery (cornstarch?), which was odd. We each had a couple of cocktails though, and they were outstanding. They know how to make a great Irish coffee. Our waiter was a professional, polite gentleman, and the overall feel of the place is quite comfortable, maybe even a tad upscale, without a massive pricetag (expect $12-15 a plate). I'll be back.

The restaurant has bar seating and regular seating. Staff was pretty efficient with get parties in and out. Our wait was half the time they expected. Really enjoyed the latte and huevos rancheros. Will definitely come back!

Cute brunch spot in downtown Winston-Salem! We ordered their Biscuit + Hot Honey Chicken and an Omelet with sides of biscuit and hashbrowns. The Hot Honey Chicken biscuit sandwich was HUGE for only $8! Crunchy, great sauce and perfect biscuit. In our omelet, we got avocados and feta cheese, but you can choose any two-adds in to personalize it. Service was great! Recommend!

I enjoyed a crab cake, filet mignon, and French toast. All items were phenomenal. The crab cake was fantabulous, and the steak was well-seasoned and had the perfect texture. The French toast was off the chain. The ambience was pretty chill, and the server was very responsive. For my beverages, I had orange juice and an expresso.

Here is a wonderful quintessential brunch spot. I've strayed away from brunch spots, mostly because with a partner with egg + gluten allergy - you cannot eat ANYWHERE for lunch. But YCC actually had a a hashbrown bowl option that was customizable - WIN. I ordered the pimento fried chicken eggs benedict (and you can select whether you get it over a biscuit or english muffin). The chicken was perfectly looked - crispy and hot and a tinge of sweetness, and the meat was juicy and not overcooked. The biscuit soaked up all of the runny yolk goodness and the pimento cheese, and all the flavors melded together so beautifully. The waitress was attentive and made sure she got our orders right - even with the craziness of Sunday morning brunch. Which speaking of, there was a line when we left on a Sunday morning (we got there at 8:30a and left around 10:00a), so plan accordingly!

I highly recommend a visit to the Young Cardinal Cafe for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! We were seated right away as a group of 2 on a weekday, and we enjoyed the weather on the patio! Our server was patient and helpful, making great recommendations and walking us through any questions. We ordered the eggs benedict special with pork tenderloin, with a side sweet tater tots and fruit. The server even went out of her way to bring us out a sample of the mustard benedict sauce to ensure we would like it! We also customized a chicken biscuit to have hot honey and pimento cheese, with a side of hash browns. We got an iced coffee to drink, which was delicious. Overall, the food and service were great, and I highly recommend a visit!

Young cardinal is fantastic! The restaurant is clean and we'll decorated. The staff were friendly and we had excellent service. The menu has tons of flexibility and customization options. My hashbrowns were crisp, the chorizo was flavorful and the dish was all around great. I also got a biscuit which may be the best biscuit in Winston!!! I can't wait to go back!

Beware of a long wait if you come on the weekend. We were told 30 minutes but waited an hour and a half. Breakfast pretty good. Coffee was a bit cold We sat at the bar so service was hot or miss. They were pretty busy. We ordered an omelet meal and the breakfast burrito. Both were average. I wasn't blown away but it was good. Maybe we should have ordered the pancakes. We've waited over a year for the opportunity to eat here because of the wait. It was good but not blown away.

Young Cardinal Cafe & Co. A Breakfast Experience! If you're looking for a simple breakfast with a modern twist, Young Cardinal is the place for you! They're a classic cafe with a wonderful space and a downtown view. I recommend sitting in the bar area. It's the perfect spot to meet with friends, sip coffee with a view, or read a good book while you dine. - I had: Peppermint latte and the Young Cardinal Breakfast with a delicious pancake, and side of fruit. Fresh and scrumptious! - Service was great! - You can't ask for a better space for indoor and outdoor dining. - Price point is very good for all that you get. They serve lunch as well, that will be my next adventure!
